Bio

When Humans Had Wings is the sonic art project of Alicen Grey, a magickian-musician heaven-bent on re-minding everyone that humans can fly.

Grey’s music blends an eclectic array of influences, including Flyleaf, Mike Patton, Sneaker Pimps, MuteMath, David Bowie, Charlotte Martin, and more.
With dynamic, emotive, classically-trained vocals and playful, edgy, surreal soundscapes, her genre-defying music (for which she endearingly coined a category all her own: “alt-whimsy”) has been named a SoundCorps SoundBites Official Selection not once, not twice, but 3 times.

Grey is also a sought-after live performer. Her performance credits include the Waldorf Astoria alongside Tony Bennett, the renowned Trinity Church on Wall Street, and The World Food Prize.

When Humans Had Wings is far more than a creative hobby or commercial endeavor. It is a sacred chronicling of self-liberation — a light in the darkness, intended to guide the listener back to their own spiritual power.
With every song she shares, it is Alicen Grey’s deepest desire that the very sound of her voice will re-mind you that you are free.
